The Embassy Pays Tribute to Jacques Chirac

The Embassy paid tribute to Jacques Chirac following the passing of the former President of the Republic on Thursday, September 26, 2019. A condolence book was open for signing by the Diplomatic Corps, the Authorities of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the French community. A minute of silence was oberved at the Embassy in conjuntion with the Alliance Française. The Embassy’s flag was flown at half staff all day on Monday September 30.

Among the many persons wishing to pay their last respects to Jacques Chirac were Mr. Dennis Moses, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago, who came to sign the ondolence book on behalf of his gouvernement, Mr. Anthony Carmona, former President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Dr. June Soomer, Secretary-General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS).
