Signing of an Agreement beween The French Development Agency (AFD) and the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA)

On February 13 the Embassy hosted the signing ceremony for an agreement between The French Development Agency (AFD) and the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), headquartered in Port of Spain, for a 1.5 million euro grant to CARPHA. This grant provides for support for a project dealing with surveillance of infectios diseases and resilience of health systems linked to climate disruption, as well as the fight against chronic ilnesses.

This event, followed by a reception at the French Residence, was attended by Philippe La Cognata, Regional Atlantic Director of AFD, Dr. C. James Hospedales, Executive Director of CARPHA, both signatories of the document, as well as the Minister of Health of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Terrence Deyalsingh and Mr. Stéphane Dovert, French Rregional Counsellor for Cooperation.
