Update on the Situation in Trinidad and Tobago - Latest Measures in Effect as of 07/08/2020

Until further notice, the following measures shall apply:

  • Sea and air borders are closed.
  • Wearing of masks is mandatory in public areas.
  • Shopping malls and stores have reopened.
  • Bars have reopened and restaurants have resumed serving meals on site.
  • Gatherings of more than 10 people are prohibited.

Any violation of these rules is punishable by a fine of TT $50,000 and 6 months’ imprisonment.

Schools are closed until September.

In order to leave the territory of Trinidad and Tobago you must have a permit issued by the Ministry of National Security. To obtain it, you must send an e-mail with your request, together with a copy of the biodata page of your passport and a copy of the page with your landng stamps to the following address: travelexemption@mns.gov.tt.
