French steelband P'tit Pan visits the Embassy

On April 11, the Embassy welcomed "P’tit Pan" to the French Residence, a group of students and their chaperones from the city of Nantes, visiting to learn the nuances of the steelpan, that mythical percussion instrument which is symbolic of Trinidad and Tobago. They came as part of an exchange with their local partners, Valley Harps steelband, and gave a concert at their panyard in Petit Valley. The reception was attended by the Mayor of Port of Spain, His Worship Alderman Joel Martinez, and Ms. Susan Shurland, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, representing her Minister.
