On June 12 the French Residence hosted the signing ceremony of a protocol between the BRGM and the Association of Caribbean States (ACS). The document was signed by Dr. June Soomer, Secretary General of the ACS and Mr. Ywenn de la Torre, Regional Director for the Caribbean of the French Office for Geological and Mining Research BRGM for its French acronym).

This cooperation falls under the CARIBCOAST project, conceived to fight agains coastal erosion, which affects all of the countries in the region. It also falls under the Sandy Shorelines programme of the ACS which is funded by the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The signing ceremony was followed by a reception attended by several guests, including Stéphane Dovert, Regional Counsellor for Cooperation, who supported this project from the beginning.
